Christina Hodson & Margot Robbie Reunite for New Pirates of the Caribbean

After months of rumors regarding the future of the blockbuster Disney franchise, The Hollywood Reporter has brought word that Birds of Prey screenwriter Christina Hodson and star Margot Robbie are reuniting for a new Pirates of the Caribbean film!

The dynamic duo of actress/producer Margot Robbie and writer Christina Hodson will team again after this year's Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn). Interestingly, it has recently been rumored that Karen Gillan (Jumanji: The Next Level) was being eyed for a Pirates reboot.

So now, along with the previously announced Pirates of the Caribbean reboot that's being tackled by Chernobyl's Craig Mazin and Ted Elliot, who co-wrote all of the past Pirates movies except for Dead Men Tell No Tales, we have this Margot Robbie-led, Christina Hodson-penned movie to look forward to.

Liverpool players celebrate Chelsea victory as they are crowned champions
Given his tough start to life in the Premier League and at Chelsea, that's some turnaround in his debut season in England . Henderson told Liverpool's official website.

Disney is in early development of the untitled project.

It seems Disney may be looking to expand the scope of the long-running franchise with both projects going at once. Hodson would write the script, and Robbie will star if the deal makes. Some of her recent credits include I, Tonya, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Bombshell. She would follow it up with Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), the Robbie-led Suicide Squad spinoff that hit theaters earlier this year which, though receiving generally positive reviews from critics and audiences, did fall short of its break-even point at the box office, and is now attached as the writer for DCEU's The Flash and Batgirl. Along with the aforementioned Bumblebee, the Transformers spinoff/prequel, she also wrote Birds of Prey, and continues to be busy in the DCEU with Batgirl and The Flash. The domestic total for 2017's "Dead Men Tell No Tales" hit $172 million, while foreign markets delivered $622 million. We'll be sure to keep you posted as any further details are made available.
