Barcelona, Juve Agree To Arthur, Mirlem Pjanic Swap

Miralem Pjanic will join Barcelona in a deal in the region of £60m

Arthur has joined Juventus from Barcelona in a transfer worth up to €82 million with Miralem Pjanic going in the other direction.

Sky Sports News exclusively revealed last week that the two clubs had agreed a deal for the 23-year-old Brazilian, who had repeatedly stressed he did not want to leave the Nou Camp this summer. The Italian club will pay €72m, plus €10m in variables.

Barca confirmed both Pjanic and Arthur will join their respective new clubs at the end of the 2019/20 season.

With Los Cules making an official, announcement on Monday afternoon, the former Roma and Lyon playmaker is now categorically a Barcelona player and will play a part in Quique Setien's squad from the 2020/21 season onwards.

Bosnia and Herzegovina global Pjanic's signing was also confirmed on the same day that Juve club stalwarts Gianluigi Buffon and Giorgio Chiellini signed new one-year deals to remain at the Allianz Stadium.

Buffon, 42, joined Juventus from Parma in 2001 and has made more than 500 appearances for the Bianconeri, returning to Turin at the start of this season following a one-year spell at Paris Saint-Germain.

The player will sign a contract with the club for the next four seasons, until the end of the 2023/24 season, with a buy out clause of 400 million euros.
