Dark mode for iOS version of the Facebook app- Facebook testing Dark mode for iOS

Users are able to choose from light and dark appearances, as well as an option to automatically change the app's appearance based on the device's system settings.

As mentioned, the Mark Zuckerberg led-social media giant already offers dark mode support that was enabled in May, along with a revamped version of its desktop interface. For reference, this update belongs to the main Facebook app and not the Facebook Lite app.

Twitter added its first version of dark mode all the way back in 2016, while Google recently added the feature to its mobile app and latest mobile OS - Android 10.

Facebook has started rolling out Dark Mode support on mobile users and the feature is now live with some users globally.

So I have dark mode on Facebook now.

Though Facebook hasn't formally announced dark mode's existence, it has confirmed the new dark mode is rolling out, so some of you may not be aware that you can access it right now. Now, it's becoming available on iPhones, but for a "small percentage of users globally right now", according to SocialMedia Today.

A report from XDA-Developers says that the company hasn't revealed any information regarding a wider rollout. Apart from that, dark mode also helps to preserve your device's battery and can be activated any time. These include WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger and Facebook Lite. The company always has been lagging out when it comes to providing regular updates for the Facebook app on Android.

Dark mode's benefits stretch beyond a visual aesthetic which might be preferable to certain users.
