Harry Potter RPG Reportedly Due in Late 2021

In early June, CNBC claimed that AT&T was intrigued in marketing off its Warner Bros. gaming division. Previous Harry Potter games, barring the Lego titles, have mostly been poor. The site Bloomberg reveals today new details: two people who now work in this project confirm that the information is real.

Reporting for Bloomberg News, Jason Schreier writes that two people working on the project have confirmed that the Harry Potter game is indeed in development now, and that it's currently scheduled for release in late 2021.

Studio management has reportedly yet to address recent comments from Rowling, which were widely seen as transphobic and made some members of the development team uncomfortable, sparking private discussions over the workplace communication app Slack. That hasn't changed its release date, though, and the site's insiders point out that author J.K. Rowling has very little direct involvement in the game (which will come as a relief to some following what many perceived to be anti-trans comments shared by the writer on Twitter).

The Harry Potter RPG was revealed in a leaked and later pulled video in October 2018.it looked like the game of many fans' dreams, featuring a player-created wizard performing spells in Hogwarts.

Donald Trump removes 'white power' video retweet
In his tweet, Trump did not specifically refer to the man who yelled " white power ". But make no mistake: "it's a battle we will win", the former vice president tweeted.

Many spoke out against Rowling's comments, including those who have worked close with her and starred in Harry Potter and the Fantastic Beasts franchises - Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Eddie Redmayne.

It is said that the game was meant to be revealed at E3 this year, but as that was cancelled due to the Covi-19 pandemic plans were re-arranged. We might see it at one of the upcoming PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X events.

Warner Bros also have a new Batman game on the way, the heavily teased Court of Owls.
