UK's Prince Andrew 'bewildered' by United States claims over Epstein probe

Gloria Allred said Prince Andrew (above) was "avoiding and evading" USA authorities by not providing a statement after his friend Ghislaine Maxwell appeared in court accused of facilitating Epstein's sexual exploitation of underage girls.

He told ITV: "They are not treating him like any ordinary suspect or witness".

Asked what the response would be if USA officials sought formal access to Prince Andrew, whose official title is the Duke of York, Johnson said: "No such approach has been made".

Lawyers for Andrew, who met Epstein through his friendship with Maxwell, say he has offered his help three times this year.

The Duke of York was accused of subjecting alleged victims of disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein to a "torture test" by his silence as lawyers for the women increased the pressure following the arrest of Ghislaine Maxwell. "I think because of the enormity of it, the amount of the charges, it lends itself to the thought if she has complicity in this, it would lend itself to a plea deal", he told HL.

Federal prosecutors requested an interview with Prince Andrew about Epstein in early June, claiming that the prince has been unresponsive to their requests, though the prince's attorneys said in a statement that he has offered an interview multiple times.

When pressed about what the government's response would be if United States officials sought access to Queen Elizabeth's son for an interview, Johnson stressed that "no such approach has been made".

She was arrested at 8:30 am Thursday morning in Bradford, New Hampshire.

Trump calls for patriotism on Independence Day
In his speech, Trump said China's secrecy, deceptions, and cover-ups allowed it to spread all over the world. Major League Baseball cancelled its 2020 All-Star Game for the first time since World War Two.

It follows the arrest of Ms Maxwell at a luxury hilltop home in the U.S. state of New Hampshire on Thursday on charges she lured underage girls for Epstein to abuse.

"The Duke of York has offered his assistance to the DOJ investigation on a number of occasions this year", the source said.

The Prince strenuously denies he had sex with her and maintains that he never saw Epstein act in a manner that would raise concerns. "It's a matter for the royal family", he told LBC radio.

Her arrest comes nearly exactly one year after Epstein was charged in a federal indictment with sexually exploiting and abusing dozens of girls and women at his mansion in Manhattan, his estate in Palm Beach, Fla., and other locations. "[They] need to be particularly cautious about this case given its nationwide publicity and who the events are, and so they need to be particularly cautious in order that she will get a good and partial jury in order that they're not tainted by what they see within the media", he mentioned, including that Jeffrey's former mates, who had been doubtlessly concerned in his legal actions, ought to be anxious.

She described Maxwell's arrest as a "monumental development" and asked whether she had information about an "even bigger name".

Meanwhile, the Duke has been directly implicated in the Epstein case, as Virginia Roberts Giuffre, one of the accusers, has claimed that she was introduced to Epstein by Maxwell before being trafficked to London and forced to have sex with the Duke at Maxwell's Belgravia home. Maxwell has previously denied any wrongdoing.

Maxwell faces six counts: conspiracy to entice minors, and enticement of a minor, to travel to engage in illegal sex acts, conspiracy to transport minors, and transportation of a minor, with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity, and two of perjury.
