Intel reshuffle sees Ann Kelleher lead tech development for 7nm CPU project

In this restructuring, it was announced that Intel's chief engineering officer, Murthy Renduchintala, will leave the company on 3 August. Dr. Ann Kelleher will lead Technology Development, Keyvan Esfarjani will lead Manufacturing and Operations, Supply Chain will be led by Dr. Randhir Thakur and finally, Raja Koduri will continue to lead Architecture, Software and Graphics.

Design Engineering. This team will be led temporarily by Josh Walden, as Intel says it is "conducting an accelerated global search to identify a permanent world-class leader".

Semiconductor sector-specific exchange traded funds climbed Monday as Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (NYSE: TSM) led the charge, extending gains in the wake of Intel Corp (NasdaqGS: INTC) decision to outsource production of its next-generation chips.

Mike Mayberry, the company's chief technology officer who previously led the group, will consult and assist with the leadership transition until his retirement at the end of the year.

The last few weeks have been nothing short of a nightmare for Intel, after it was forced to announce its next generation 7nm would be delayed by another six months. "I also want to thank Murthy for his leadership in helping Intel transform our technology platform".
