Australia's Victoria reports 627 new Covid-19 cases - latest updates

Australia's Victoria state reports 384 new coronavirus cases

Victoria, which is a state in the Southern end of Australia has a capital city called Melbourne, which is where Pakistan, thanks to its stars of Imran Khan, Wasim Akram and Javed Miandad won the World Cup of cricket at the MCG in 1992.

The increase in cases is the second-highest single-day increase of the pandemic and comes after a record 723 cases were recorded yesterday.

This is guaranteed not to contain the corona pandemic!

Cafes, pubs and restaurants would be allowed to stay open, however, because these were controlled environments where social distancing rules could be enforced.

Morrison said he spoke to Daniel Andrews, the Premier of Victoria, on Thursday night to discuss the possibility of further restrictions in the state.

However, he added: "It is not unexpected in some ways when you have got so many cases in private sector aged care, when you've got so many cases connected to big outbreaks in specific workplaces".

"Disappointingly, I have to inform you that there were more than 130 unsuccessful visits, so around one in four people could not be found at home", Mr Andrews told reporters on Friday morning.

The lockdown fatigue could leave little in the arsenal for governments as they battle flareups from Hong Kong to Spain, Vietnam to Belgium.

They will join more than 1400 Australian Defence Force personnel already on the ground in the state.

Of the total fatalities, over 100 were recorded in Victoria.

37 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed in Clark County
The Cattaraugus County Health Department confirmed four additional coronavirus cases Tuesday, bringing the county's total to 124. In addition, there are 7,817 COVID-19 cases designated as having recovered by the New Mexico Department of Health .

The alarming rise in infections is set to be 723, a figure widely reported in Australian media, with an additional 13 deaths. Most of the deaths come from an elderly care facility in Victoria hard-hit by the virus. "And there's still a lot of work to do and we're not on top of it yet".

Anyone not wearing a face mask risks a fine of $200.

Victoria Premier Andrews said last week that the cause of the spread could be attributed to people going to work with symptoms.

This resurgence has notably hit poorer migrant communities in Melbourne, a group that the government has been accused of neglecting in testing and outreach prior to the infection spike.

"It's about recognising that far too many people are either not taking this seriously enough - or they're having to make an impossible choice". "They don't have the finances to take that time off".

"We failed to take the most obvious lessons from Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom - that this virus gets into aged care and causes chaos".

Of the 21 new cases, two have been linked to the funeral gatherings cluster in Bankstown area.

But before a vaccine is developed and widely distributed, Australia's limbo is likely to be replicated elsewhere.

NSW has granted an exemption for 400 people to gather at a mosque in western Sydney to celebrate Eid, which takes place this weekend.
