Eat Out to Help Out launches with over 72000 restaurants signed up

Bill’s Restaurant and Bar one of the participating restaurants in the Eat Out to Help Out scheme

The Eat Out to Help Out Scheme gets underway today, which Mr Sunak says has "has never been tried in the United Kingdom before".

Frederica D'Incecco, of Tapas Brindisa Battersea, in London, said that the restaurant has received lots of enquiries about the scheme and expects a large number of bookings and walk-ins.

The Eat Out to Help Out scheme starts on Monday 3 August and runs until Monday 31 August.

The chancellor Rishi Sunak has dipped his hand into the country's pockets again in an attempt to help the struggling hospitality industry.

UK Hospitality said that its survey of business leaders suggests that 84% of restaurants are taking part in at least some of their locations.

The maximum available discount is £10 per person when you dine in.

Restaurants, pubs and cafes through-out Badenoch and Strathspey will be offering half-price meals to diners from today as part of a new Government initiative to support the hospitality sector after the Covid-19 lockdown.

But unfortunately for takeaway businesses, Eat Out to Help Out discounts only apply to food eaten in restaurant or cafe premises.

Boston Red Sox vs
Perez struggled against the Baltimore Orioles last Saturday, giving up five runs (four earned) in five innings to suffer a loss. The lefty departed from the game with a 2-0 lead, but the bullpen blew it and the Braves ended up winning 5-3 in 10 innings.

To the delight of customers, you can use the discount as many times as you want, and there is no minimum spend requirement.

In the South West, more than 5,000 smaller and independent outlets have signed up to the scheme with hundreds more of the bigger chains such as Pizza Express and Costa also involved.

Therefore, this does not apply to food or drink served at weddings, takeaways, or mobile food vans.

A spokesman for Fuller Smith & Turner, the parent company of Fuller's pubs, said: "We have seen a definite upturn in bookings for the early part of the week - and we are grateful to the Treasury for launching the Eat Out to Help Out scheme".

Which businesses are taking part?

.

Operators will then be able to claim the discount back from Westminster.

Your local takeaway may have slashed its prices in line with this, but restaurants and takeaways may also keep their prices the same at this time.
