The pair handled the dough like experts, even earning a compliment for Kate's technique.

The royal couple also visited the London Muslim Centre.

Britain's Duke and Duchess of Cambridge carried out a series of engagements in London including meeting job seekers at a local job centre, chatting to staff and volunteers at the East London Mosque and lending a hand at a famous bagel bakery.

According to the statement issued from the official royal Instagram handle, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge spoke to customers, staff and employers during their visit on the difficulties involved in helping people find work during a global pandemic. "I had beginner's luck, they are getting worse", Kate said as she tried to manipulate the dough.

The imam, who received an OBE from William previous year for services to his community, said later: "I highlighted the issue of people increasingly needing support with their mental health - the Muslim community as well as the rest of the United Kingdom, who have been horrifically affected by the pandemic in terms of losing jobs and livelihoods".

William and Kate visited communities, businesses and individuals in London Bridge and Whitechapel to thank those who have gone above and beyond to help others amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The duchess asked Miss Khaled, who is from France and has been based in London for five years: "Are a lot of your colleagues who were made redundant at the same time as you, are they finding themselves in the same situation?"

Speaking to job-seekers and employers on the occasion, William revealed that Louis is a huge fan of diggers, Kate quickly interrupted and said: 'Don't forget Charlotte!

Kate Middleton and Prince William had a busy day today, making me feel just a tad embarrassed about still being in pyjamas at 3 p.m.
