Apple releases iOS 14, iPadOS 14, and watchOS 7 updates

iOS 14 release - Your Apple iPhone will get this blockbuster upgrade TODAY

IOS 14 was first announced back in June at Apple's WWDC Developers Conference and since then the United States firm has been putting it through its paces as part of its beta test. In fact, if you have iOS 13 on your iPhone right now then you'll be able to get the new update.

Although Apple never confirms a time for its yearly iOS upgrades we're expecting this new operating system to be ready for download at around 6pm tonight.

With iOS and iPadOS 14 available as of today, Microsoft has updated its Outlook app for iOS devices to enable support for the new iOS 14 feature that lets third-party mail and browser apps be set as default apps (via The Verge).

When you update your iOS device with the new Apple operating system and the new version of Microsoft Outlook and Edge, once available in the Apple appstore, you will be able to choose Outlook and Edge as default apps.

watchOS 7 also includes automatic handwashing detection that uses the Apple Watch's sensors, microphone, and machine learning to figure out when you're washing your hands and give you a 20-second countdown.

With iPadOS 14, Apple Pencil and Outlook, users will be able to write their emails and their handwritten message will be converted to text automatically with Scribble. You will enjoy improvements in the email and calendar complications for the Apple Watch. Instead of being restricted to just using Apple apps, you can now use Outlook for email and Microsoft Edge for web browsing by default.

Rolling out in September, OneDrive introduces the new Home experience which brings your most recently used files, shared libraries as well as offline files together regardless if you last accessed them on your mobile device, PC or mac. What's more, you can also drag and drop photos onto Outlook from the Photos app, opened at the same time as Outlook on your iPad. For example, you could pay for a parking meter without downloading the actual app.
