Nintendo online subscriptions soar driven by 'Animal Crossing' fans

Donkey Kong Country 2

Given the more approachable nature of their games, Nintendo has especially seen great success this year and now it seems that the Nintendo Switch August 2020 sales numbers have broken industry records.

Nintendo has announced the next round of games to be added to the ever-growing Nintendo Switch Online retro library. The Nintendo Entertainment System - Nintendo Switch Online collection expands its roster with the addition of an NES game too: the sci-fi shoot-'em-up S.C.A.T.: Special Cybernetic Attack Team.

Three games will be coming to the SNES library: Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy Kong's Quest, Mario's Super Picross, and The Peace Keepers.

Are you excited like us for the return of Donkey Kong Country 2? Another interesting tidbit is that half of the top 20 games sold in August 2020 were Nintendo-published titles, with only a few of them being initially-released this year. Enter Diddy Kong and Dixie Kong, who are ready to courageous the seas to save our hairy hero. The selection also features other beloved classic SNES games such as Mario's Super Picross, as well as The Peace Keepers. It is a sequel to Mario's Picross on Game Boy, and it, ya know, plays like Picross.

Eat Out to Help Out pushes United Kingdom inflation down to 0.2%
The ONS figures also revealed a fall in fuel prices from an average of 113.1p per litre in August against 128.3p in 2019. Inflation plunged last month as the government's Eat Out scheme and tumbling air fares suppressed prices.

Console gaming rivals Sony and Microsoft are set to release their next-generation systems (PS5 and Xbox Series X) in time for Christmas this year, with the pair also targeting users with their own online subscription services in an attempt to prolong the life of their current generation consoles. The story follows four people that have been affected by an economic war. This is your classic shoot 'em up experience, where the players must reach the end of the level while taking out everything that stands in their way.

Then again, if Nintendo is going to put a game called SCAT on our Switch, we feel we've at least got to give it a try.

There is a 12 month Family Membership for £31.49 ($34.99) that will allow a Nintendo Account holder to "invite up to seven others to join a family group" that will all have access to Nintendo Switch Online. There's nothing he loves more than crafting a guide that will help someone.
