Ori and the Will of the WispsMore

With such a handsome (if pricey) physical edition, Both Ori games are a fantastic addition to any game collection for anyone who loves Nintendo Switch platformers.

Originally released past year on Xbox One and PC, Ori and The Will of The Wisps is the sequel to 2015's Ori and The Blind Forest.

Nintendo held yet another Direct Mini: Partner Showcase on September 17 where they detailed upcoming releases from their publishing partners.

However, in a Reddit AMA two months ago, the lead engineer for Moon Studios, Gennadiy Korol, put a dampener on expectations for a Switch port.

PS4 Owners Can Play 'Black Ops Cold War' For Free This Weekend
The coolest part of the announcement was a follow up that the Alpha for the game will be releasing this Friday for PS4 users. Preloads for that start tomorrow and it's free (although those in Germany may need to pay a nominal fee, apparently).

It'll run you $150 and you can find it here.

Well, today's announcement has blown that out of the water.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps has not only been revealed to be coming to the Nintendo Switch, it's actually coming to the Switch today. However, unlike the Microsoft published Cuphead, neither of the games are on PS4. Either way, fans of the well-loved Ori series will be delighted to pick up and play the game in handheld mode.

Currently, the game is only available as a digital download, but physical editions of the game and its predecessor are planned to be released in the future. You can pre-order it by visiting iam8bit's website right here. You also get a The Flora & Fauna of Ori Field Guide book, a sketchbook zine with concept and production art, a collection of art cards, a stain-glass style art piece, digital copies of the soundtracks, and a glow-in-the-dark enamel pin of Ori with a familiar owl.
