Lee Kerslake, best known as the longtime drummer of rock band Uriah Heep and for playing on two Ozzy Osbourne albums, has died of prostate cancer.

Kerslake's death was confirmed by English prog-rock band Uriah Heep via a lengthy post shared to their Facebook page on Sunday.

Prior to that, he had been in Uriah Heep since 1971, including their all time classic, Demons and Wizards, and the follow up, The Magician's Birthday.

Lee was also involved with David Byron, Head Machine, Ken Hensley, Living Loud, National Head Band, The Gods, and Toe Fat during his lifetime. Now Blizzard of Oz is Number Nine on Rolling Stone's list of the 100 Greatest Heavy Metal Albums. He died peacefully, praise The Lord, but he will be terribly missed'. He added: "He had a passion for life bar none and was much loved by the fans, as well as anyone who crossed his path!" Given his prowess, the Prince of Darkness himself would come calling during the 1980s and Kerslake began his close working relationship with Ozzy Osbourne, working on four albums in total.

The sad news comes amid the 40th anniversary of Blizzard of Ozz, which came out on September 20th, 1980.

It added that it was working on reforms to its corporate registry system that will require more checks on company directors. For years, Deutsche Bank has wrestled with regulatory penalties and fines, high costs, weak profits and a low share price.

Like his former Ozzy Osbourne bandmate Bob Daisley, Kerslake spent years in litigation with Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne over his contributions to Ozzy's first two solo albums. "Per Lee's request, Ozzy even sent Kerslake a platinum album certification for "Blizzard of Ozz" and 'Diary of a Madman" (along with a handwritten note) as seen in the above photo (tweeted out by Ozzy in early 2019). "I hope you feel better".

Last year, Kerslake revealed that he had been given months to live after battling cancer for several years.

Kerslake is survived by his spouse, Sue.
