Denver Broncos star running back Melvin Gordon charged with DUI

Gordon is coming off his best game as a Bronco, eclipsing 100 yards in a victory over the Jets on October 15.

"We're conscious of the state of affairs involving Melvin Gordon", the Broncos mentioned in an announcement.

Gordon was caught driving 71 miles per hour in a 35 miles per hour area in downtown Denver. The team added that it has been in constant communication with the RB and "is in the process of gathering more details".

According to a 9News report, Gordon is expected to be arraigned on November 13, the day before the team leaves for a game against the Raiders.

"Talk to the league, get all the facts in order, before we make a decision about what we're going to do and weigh the differences between what the mandated league punishment will be and anything we want to do in addition to that", the 62-year-old said. The NFL will review the case and could hand down discipline regardless of what happens.

Two-time 1,000-yard rusher Phillip Lindsay returned to practice last week and is expected to play Sunday at New England after recovering from a turf toe injury he suffered in the season opener last month. Last year, Broncos safety Kareem Jackson was suspended for the final two games after a DUI arrest in September in downtown Denver.

Melvin Gordon, the Broncos' beginning working again, has discovered bother with the legislation. He rushed for 107 yards and scored two touchdowns on 23 carries in a Thursday night win over the New York Jets almost two weeks ago. The Broncos defeated the Jets 37-28.
