Pelosi Ridicules CNN's Blitzer in Contentious Exchange

Pelosi chafes at Wolf Blitzer's questions on Covid talks

Their proposal stands at $2.2 trillion. "Ro Khanna, that's nice". "And nobody's waiting until February". Blitzer asked Pelosi why, when there are people who can't pay their rent and need to go to food banks, she won't accept the $1.8 trillion offer.

"Nancy Pelosi is playing politics", Bognet added. They can't pay their rent.

"I am sensitive to them", Blitzer shot back.

"Blitzer: "$1.8 trillion and the president just tweeted, 'STIMULUS.

Blitzer also asked Pelosi why she won't directly hold talks with Trump to iron out a deal, since the speaker and president haven't spoken in almost a year.

"What's wrong with $1.8 trillion?" They have no idea of the particulars.

"I hope you'll ask the same questions about Republicans, why they don't want to meet the needs of the American people", Pelosi responded.

Earlier on Tuesday, President Trump seemed to indicate his support for a large stimulus package.

"[Americans] really need the money right now...even members of your own caucus, madam speaker, want to accept this deal", Blitzer asked, citing comments from fellow California Democrats including Rep. Ro Khanna and former Democratic presidential candidate and now CNN contributor Andrew Yang who called on the House Speaker to accept the "significant" stimulus deal.

"Honest to God, I really can't get over it".

Lancs to remain in Tier Two of lockdown after last-minute decision
But the changes announced by Mr Hancock on Thursday mean a further 26.7 million people will be covered by the Tier 2 restrictions. What are the restrictions? He told LBC's Iain Dale he will "stand firm" against such a proposal and will "absolutely" reject it.

The exchange between Pelosi and Blitzer grew more tense as the CNN anchor continued pressing the House speaker on the urgency of reaching an agreement on COVID-19 relief, which eventually led to Pelosi accuse Blitzer again of being a GOP apologist. Ro Khanna, he's lovely. They are not negotiating this situation.

"No, we'll leave it on the note that you are not right on this, Wolf, and I hate to say that to you", Pelosi interrupted. "But, I feel confident about it, I feel confident about my colleagues, and I feel confidence in my chairs".

Blitzer countered that it "was not about me" but about Americans putting food on the table.

Glenn pointed out that the "we" in Pelosi's sanctimonious claim is actually the American taxpayers.

Blitzer then repeated his assertion that Democrats shouldn't let "the flawless be the enemy of the good".

The two sides remain at a standstill over the total amount to spend, the level of funding for state and local government assistance, a national COVID-19 testing plan, and election assistance funding, among other provisions.

"Every day is critically, critically important", Blitzer said, attempting to wrap up the interview.

"Thank you to your sensitivity to our constituents needs", Pelosi responded.

"Have you fed them?"

Bognet said, "I called on Matt Cartwright to go to her and say that 'Madame Speaker we need to make a deal to help the American people, ' and Matt Cartwright refuses to do anything, Nancy Pelosi refuses to do anything".
