Arteta says his conscience is clear after leaving Ozil in Arsenal wilderness

Mesut Özil's Arsenal career seems to be over after he was expelled from Mikel Arteta's 25-man Premier League squad.

Ozil has not played a single minute for the Gunners since March 7, having initially been a mainstay of the team following Mikel Arteta's appointment previous year.

In December a year ago Arsenal distanced themselves from Ozil's comments after he spoke out strongly against the persecution of the Uighur population in China. It's my responsibility. It's nothing relating to any behaviour or, like I read, the paycuts.

Arsenal are missing a handful of players, including the likes of Calum Chambers and Rob Holding who are expected to be back soon.

"I'm really deeply disappointed by the fact that I have not been registered for the Premier League season for the time being", he said in a statement on Twitter on Wednesday. "I can promise you that this hard decision won't change anything in my mindset - I will continue to train as best as I can and wherever possible use my voice against inhumanity and for justice".

"My level of communication has been really high, we know what to expect with each other". London still feels at home, I still have many good friends on this team, and I still feel a strong bond with the fans of this club.

Coronavirus: CDC changes definition of ‘close contact’
He said that the facing a tough situation right now, adding that this will be a hard fall and winter for the country. She says it does have "the potential to significantly increase the number of people who are asked to quarantine ".

Partey joined the Gunners from Atlético Madrid for €50 million this summer.

As with Ozil, Sokratis fell out of contention at Arsenal following the lockdown in spring. "He has done a few more training sessions and he looks ready to start".

His omission comes as no surprise, having failed to play a single minute for manager Mikel Arteta since March 7, but he had held out hope that he could somehow get back into the team.

"He's the only player I've played with for three teams - Bremen, Arsenal and also Germany".

"He has been training with us". I have to make the decisions to get the best possible squad in order to win football matches and competitions as often as we can. "This is the way I am and the way I am going to keep doing it".

"I am not angry [about speculation the board influence who to select] because probably they need to clarify this situation and I understand I am here to respond to your question, but I don't want to hide behind anyone at the club, the ownership".
