Dwight Howard signs with Sixers after tweeting about return to the Lakers

REPORT: Anthony Davis Is Still Expected to Re-Sign with the Lakers, But Not Until At Least After Thanksgiving

Earlier Friday evening, Dwight Howard tweeted that he meant to re-sign with the Los Angeles Lakers and proclaimed the city to be his rightful home. "Purple and gold never gets old". Howard, who emerged as a key part of the Lakers' rotation in 2019-20, shared his excitement on Twitter.

Charania noted there was "no deal done" with Howard.

Except. then he deleted that tweet.

Now reports have surfaced that Howard has agreed to sign with the Philadelphia 76ers on a one-year, $2.6 million deal. It's possible he and the Lakers are working on a new deal, but Howard jumped the gun and posted the news before the deal was finalized.

Moderna's COVID-19 Vaccine Found 94.5% Effective | IE
The preliminary data is based on an evaluation of 95 confirmed Covid-19 infections among the trial's 30,000 participants. Leading up to the final analysis, Moderna expects the point estimate for vaccine efficacy may change.

Despite playing even fewer minutes in the postseason, Howard started seven games and won his first National Basketball Association championship in his 16th season.

Anthony Davis is technically going to be the top free agent available during this shortened free agent/offseason period, but nobody actually expects him to leave LeBron and the 2020 NBA Champion Los Angeles Lakers.

Howard, 34, is considered among the greatest big men of his generation, with career averages of 16.7 points, 12.3 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game.
