Comedian Bharti Singh being questioned by NCB after raid

Mumbai: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Saturday arrested comedian Bharti Singh following seizure of ganja (cannabis) from her house in suburban Andheri, an official said.

As per reports in India Today, comedian Bharti Singh has been arrested by the NCB after questioning.

NCB had earlier raided a place in Khar Danda area and nabbed a trafficker aged 21 years with various drugs including 15 blots of LSD (commercial quantity), ganja (40 grams) and Nitrazepam (psychotropic medicines).

Comedienne Bharti and Harsh are noted comedians, television personalities hosting programmes, appearing in reality shows or serials. After sustained interrogation of almost five hours, late this evening, Bharti was placed under arrest, while hubby Harsh was still being grilled by the sleuths. The search was conducted as part of the ongoing probe by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) into alleged drug use in the entertainment industry, he said.

It is worthwhile to mention here that anti-drug agency conducted raid on the house of Bharti and her husband Harsh Limbachiyaa in Mumbai this morning. According to NCB sources, after getting a tip-off from drug peddlers, the NCB officials landed at Bharti Singh's house.

Harsh and Bharti are a popular couple on the small screen and have admitted to consuming anti-narcotics substances, as revealed by the NCB.

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) is now investigating the drug case in Bollywood and has been investigating actors, producers, and others related to the industry. Other names in the case that were summoned include Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor among other drug peddlers.
