Prince Harry shows support for Princess Diana BBC inquiry

Prince William says new investigation into BBC's Diana interview a 'step in the right direction'

Prince Harry has rubbished the claims to being against Prince William or the investigation into Princess Diana's controversial interview with Martin Bashir.

In response to recent tabloid reports that accuse the royal of not supporting his brother and protecting their late mother's legacy, the source claims that "Harry is getting regular updates and is aware of everything that is happening". It should help establish the truth behind the actions that led to the Panorama interview and the subsequent decisions taken by the BBC staff at the time.

Although fans love the season, the same can not be said for Prince William and the royal family, who have a long history of disapproving of the series and its portrayal of their family.

Lord Dyson will be looking into allegations made by the Princess of Wales' brother, Charles Spencer, earlier this month that accused BBC journalist Martin Bashir of using forged bank statements and false claims to convince her to participate in the interview.

"Sadly, some people are not just seeing this as a drive for truth, but also trying to use this as an opportunity to try to drive a wedge between the brothers".

On Thursday, Prince William publicly welcomed the investigation into the interview, describing it as a "step in the right direction".

A former Supreme Court justice is leading a new inquiry into how the broadcaster obtained the interview and whether executives covered up any wrongdoing after accusations that the late princess was tricked into taking part.

"You don't have to make a public statement to imagine how he is feeling personally, people know how much his mother means to him". From 1995 to the present, Lord Dyson has been free to investigate every aspect of the matter.

On Friday, Nov. 20, Spencer wrote on Twitter, "As I've told the BBC this evening, I'm not at all satisfied with the parameters they've set around their enquiry into the @BBCPanorama interview with Diana of 25 years ago tonight".

The BBC said it will publish the investigation's findings after its conclusion.

The BBC announced a new investigation.

In episode 6 of series 4, titled Terra Nullius - which deals with Prince Charles and Princess Diana's 1983 tour of Australia - Adeane is shown speaking brusquely and insensitivity to the Princess, springing it on her that she has to be separated from Prince William, then still a baby, for two weeks.

In it, the princess famously said "there were three of us in this marriage", referring to the Prince of Wales's relationship with Camilla Parker-Bowles.

Harry was just 12 years old when his mother died in a 1997 vehicle crash, and 10 when the infamous Panorama interview aired.

Mr Bashir has not commented on the investigation and is now on sick leave recovering from heart surgery and from contracting Covid-19.
