Trump reportedly didn't directly pressure MI lawmakers in 'unprecedented meeting'

Georgia Governor Brian Kemp speaks during a press conference

Donald Trump sought to leverage the power of the Oval Office on Friday in an extraordinary attempt to block President-elect Joe Biden's victory, but his pleas to MI lawmakers to overturn the will of their constituents didn't work.

President Donald Trump said Saturday his eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., is doing "very well" in quarantine after becoming infected with the coronavirus. The President has dismissed the criticisms, arguing that his opponent Joe Biden would have handled the crisis worse and caused perhaps millions of casualties, citing Biden's comments in March about "xenophobia" against China, which Trump took to mean opposition to travel restrictions against the Asian nation.

Mr Biden beat Mr Trump in Wayne County by more than a 2-1 margin. A recount in Georgia illustrated this after state officials rejected Trump campaign's implicit effort to throw out votes from black majority Atlanta, a tactic they are also trying out in Detroit, Michigan.

"Working as an engineer throughout my life, I live by the motto that numbers don't lie", he said. Hours later, Trump tweeted, "Big voter fraud information coming out concerning Georgia".

Moderna's COVID-19 Vaccine Found 94.5% Effective | IE
The preliminary data is based on an evaluation of 95 confirmed Covid-19 infections among the trial's 30,000 participants. Leading up to the final analysis, Moderna expects the point estimate for vaccine efficacy may change.

"The candidates who win the most votes win elections and Michigan's electoral votes", they wrote.

After several legal setbacks, Trump was seemingly attempting to discourage Shirkey and Chatfield from certifying the presidential results in MI - where President-elect Joe Biden holds a 150,000-vote advantage - and instead have the state's GOP legislators choose electors.

At a news conference at the state Capitol, before the results were certified, Raffensperger reiterated his confidence in the 2020 elections. Historians though are grappling with the one scenario that the country's Founding Fathers had not visualized: What happens if Trump simply does not relinquish the Presidency?
