The AP reports: "Election officials in Wisconsin's largest county accused observers for President Donald Trump on Saturday of seeking to obstruct a recount of the presidential results, in some instances by objecting to every ballot tabulators pulled to count".

"We're beginning to look like a banana republic", Maryland's Republican Governor Larry Hogan told CNN's "State of the Union" program, criticizing the refusal of many in his own party to acknowledge Trump's defeat.

Biden's choice as White House chief of staff, again urged that the Trump administration - specifically a federal agency called the General Services Administration (GSA) - formally recognize Biden's victory to unlock resources for the transition process.

Judge Brann said his "court has been presented with strained legal arguments without merit and speculative accusations".

Critics have said Trump appeared to show little interest in the summit on Saturday.

His campaign has filed legal challenges across the United States, disputing the election results in key swing states, citing claims of election fraud, vote tampering and lack of transparency.

North Dakota senator Kevin Cramer on Sunday defended Mr Trump's insistence on ensuring the election was fair, but added on NBC that it is "past time to start a transition", adding, "I'd rather have a president who has more than one day to prepare".

A message seeking comment was left with the Trump campaign.

Speaking on a call with reporters Friday, Yohannes Abraham, an adviser to Biden's transition, warned that the delay is affecting the transition's planning.

Cleveland served as the American president in two separated terms: from 1885 to 1889 and then from 1893 to 1897, loosing his first re-election bid to Benjamin Harrison.

Pennsylvania Secretary of State Kathy Boockvar and the seven Biden-majority counties that the campaign sued had argued Trump had previously raised similar claims and lost.

Michigan's board of canvassers, which includes two Democrats and two Republicans, is due to meet Monday to certify the results. Judges in MI and Arizona, finding no evidence of fraud, refused to block the certification of county vote tallies.

He warned that it's important for Democrats to try to understand why people voted for Trump, because it will be "hard to get big stuff done if the country is this polarised".

Mr. Biden said on Thursday he had chosen a treasury secretary.

"It is the absolute responsibility of the outgoing team" to provide such information, Ms Power said.
