Covid-19 Outbreak On USC's Football Team Cancels Saturday's Game Against Colorado

A team must have at least 53 scholarship players available, including at least seven offensive linemen, one quarterback and four defensive linemen.

The player, who was not publicly identified, traveled with the team to Utah for Saturday's 33-17 victory over the Utes and had tested negative within 36 hours of travel and again on game day, according to a USC statement.

On Thursday, Pac-12 made the announcement that the game will be declared a no-contest, USA Today reports.

Colorado was initially scheduled to play USC this weekend, but positive COVID-19 cases within the Trojans' program forced the game to be canceled.

Two USC players tested positive for the coronavirus earlier this week, and five others were quarantined. "I applaud their discipline and sacrifice in doing so".

Shortly after the cancellation of the USC-Colorado game, Colorado announced it would play host to San Diego State Saturday in Boulder, Colorado.

USC is scheduled to host Washington State at 9 p.m. EST on December 4 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

San Diego State also had its scheduled Week 13 game against Fresno State - planned for Friday - canceled because Fresno State had COVID-19 related issues within its football program.

The Pac-12 announced November 19 that its CEO Group approved non-conference games, reversing a previous decision.
