According the DeKalb County Police Department, Hawk was booked at 6:35 p.m. ET local time on Monday.

DeKalb County Police Department confirmed that Silento, real name Ricky Hawk, was arrested on 1 February after his cousin, Frederick Rooks, was found shot dead on 21 January.

Richard Hawk, the rapper better known as Silento, was arrested on Monday in Georgia on felony murder charges. Representatives for Silentó did not immediately respond to Variety's request for comment.

Hawk has been arrested multiple times in recent months on charges related to domestic violence, weapons and speeding charges.

A representative for the DeKalb County Police Department said that they investigated a shooting on January 21 at approximately 3:30 a.m. after Rooks was found in the roadway, suffering multiple gunshot wounds.

Police spokeswoman Michaela Vincent told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution today: "However, after a thorough investigation, DKPD detectives identified Hawk as Rooks' cousin, and the person responsible for Rooks' murder".

Hawk rose to fame as a teenage rap sensation, and his "Watch Me" video has been viewed almost 1.8 billion times on YouTube.
