Nancy Pelosi says the Biden administration has the border situation 'under control'

With the number of migrants surging, administration officials say Biden inherited an untenable situation that resulted from what they say was Trump's undermining and weakening of the immigration system. "Do not come. This journey is risky". We are rebuilding orderly ways in which the children can make their claims without having to make the perilous journey to the border. We are expelling single adults.

Mayorkas visisted the border Friday with senators from both parties amid policy challenges and political blowback - with Republicans blaming the problem on Biden's immigration policies, which they say are acting as a draw for migrants.

"We're in the process of doing it now, including making sure that we reestablish what existed before, which was - they can stay in place and make their case from their home country", he told reporters.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said, "Biden has lost control of the US-Mexico border".

There was also a surge in 2019 and 2020, President Joe Biden said in an interview.

Asked about the report, Mayorkas said on CNN that "we don't have those plans in place now". But it's clear they are engaged in a huge cover-up to hide just how bad things truly are. The Associated Press noted that the reversal of Trump administration immigration policies caused some top immigration officials to worry that there would be a surge in immigration.

"Would you have tried to do this when Donald Trump was president?" But they dismissed the experts' advice and rushed to dismantle the entire system - all in the name of politics.

He said three new facilities had been opened to handle border arrivals just last week.

Athletes denounce Atlanta shootings, condemn anti-Asian racism
Prosecutors Wednesday charged Long, 21, of Woodstock, Georgia, with eight counts of murder and one count of aggravated assault. Baker did not immediately respond to requests for comment Wednesday, and the Facebook page appears to no longer be available.

But Republicans flatly rejected that analysis, with Michael McCaul, a Texas congressman, calling Mr Mayorkas's comments "very irresponsible". "They have created a humanitarian crisis down here at this border that you have seen now. I haven't seen a plan".

"They have created a humanitarian crisis down here at this border".

Landon Hutchens, a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) spokesman, said that due to a lack of capacity in the Rio Grande Valley, migrants have been sent to El Paso for processing, as well as Laredo, Texas, and San Diego, California.

"Until he regains control, by implementing policies that work, it will be hard to do the Dreamers or anything else ... legalizing anybody under these circumstances will lead to even more illegal immigration", the Republican senator said. Chris Murphy, who said he was holding back tears after seeing a terrified13-year-old girl sobbing uncontrollably to a translator while he visited the border this week with Mayorkas, the secretary said: "We all know what happened to that 13-year-old girl in the prior administration, she was turned away and turned into the desert of Mexico, or sent back to the very country for which she fled by reason of fear of persecution, we are addressing the needs of that child", he explained.

"We're working on providing access so that individuals will be able to see what the conditions in a border patrol station are like", he said on Fox News.

"But first things first, we are in the midst of a pandemic and we're focused on operations and executing on our plans". Biden, after all, is pushing for a massive immigration overhaul that includes prized goals such as a pathway to citizenship for millions and has spoken of the need to treat those entering the USA with compassion.
