Ontarians 75 and older can now book COVID-19 vaccines online

Of the new cases reported today, 465 are in Toronto, 329 are in Peel Region, and 161 are in York Region.

The number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 jumped to 868 over the past 24 hours, up from 813 on Monday, according to the province. Hospitalizations are up more than 100 patients since one week ago.

To date, more than 230,000 appointments have been scheduled for first and second doses of COVID-19 vaccines.

It is the highest number of ICU patients since February 8.

The Province also confirmed 29 new variant cases over the weekend, this means we now have a total of 1,443 variants of concern confirmed in Ontario, majority are the B.1.1.7 variant first discovered in the United Kingdom.

With 32,556 tests processed yesterday, the Ministry of Health is reporting a positivity rate of 5.7 per cent, the highest that number has been since the end of January. There were 1,699 new cases, down from the almost 1,800 on Sunday and the same for Saturday.
