New York Governor Cuomo's Aides Reportedly Receive Subpoenas in Sexual Harassment Probe

Sherry Vill, 55, said she was left rattled and afraid to come forward after the encounter in which Cuomo called her lovely and twice kissed her aggressively on the cheeks during a visit to her home in Greece, a suburb of Rochester.

The woman is reported to have said she was shocked when the Governor leaned in and kissed her cheek then kissed the other one. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand appointed a special prosecutor for the case, and according to NY1, "Five female Republican State Senators sent a letter to the Attorney General asking that she appoint a special prosecutor in this case".

The married mother of three said she knows the "difference between an innocent gesture and a sexual one". "His actions were very overly sexual, highly inappropriate and disrespectful to me and my family".

Cuomo's visit to Vill's home was not planned but part of a tour he took of Lake Ontario flooding, Vill said in a prepared statement.

During a Monday afternoon press conference, Sherry Vill said the governor kissed her on two separate occasions in a "highly sexual manner". I never felt as uncomfortable as I did the day that Governor Cuomo came to my home.

The New York state attorney general's office has reportedly subpoenaed dozens of Cuomo administration staff in connection with the investigation into allegations of sexual harassment against the governor. Before leaving, he grabbed her hand and face and kissed her cheek again, Vill said. He took my hand and said, 'Is there anything else you want?' I did not know how to respond.

At least seven women, including several who used to work with Cuomo's administration, have accused the governor of inappropriate behavior, unwanted advances and other misconduct.

"Notably, [the staffer] did not say 'my husband and I, ' or 'my family and I, '" said Vill.

Suez ship congestion could delay 10 LNG deliveries to Europe, analysts say
While a company might know it has a product sitting on a ship that's stopped, the impact of delays down the line are unknown. The shipping journal said two major companies, Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd, were looking into whether to re-route their vessels.

Vill and Allred said today Vill did not come forward in the past four years because she was anxious about Cuomo's powerful position and because some of her family members encouraged her not to. A photo of the incident from the wedding shows Ruch with a look of dread upon her face as Cuomo cups her face in his hands.

In the past, Cuomo has referred to his Italian heritage as an explanation for his habit of hugging and kissing people when greeting them. The women's rights lawyer said she supports many of Cuomo's policy positions.

'He put his other arm around my back, his hand on my waist, and held me firmly in place while indicating to a photographer he wanted us to pose for a picture'.

Despite the controversies surrounding him, the governor has remained steadfast that he will not step down, and denied that any of the ongoing scandals limits his ability to lead or govern the state.

Following the press briefing, Allred and Vill will reach out to state Attorney General Letitia James to inform her that Vill is willing to cooperate with an investigation.

Cuomo has repeatedly said he never touched anyone inappropriately, but, in an apology dismissed by his accusers, acknowledged he acted in ways that made people feel uncomfortable.

Besides the harassment claims, the embattled governor also faces a review into the alleged misreporting of a large number of COVID-19 deaths that had occurred in nursing homes across the state past year.

The state's top Democrat, a national star during the early months of the pandemic, compared calls for his resignation to "cancel culture" and insinuated some of his accusers may have political motivations during a recent call with reporters.
