Maxine Waters attends protest over police killing of Daunte Wright

Judge in Chauvin trial calls out Rep. Waters for 'abhorrent' comment

According to The Hill, In a statement on Sunday, Green said she will "be introducing a resolution to expel Rep. Maxine Waters from Congress for her continual incitement of violence".

McCarthy's comments follow similar calls from another House Republican, Marjorie Taylor Greene, who said she was planning to introduce a resolution to expel Maxine Waters from Congress over her calls for Minnesota BLM protesters to defy the imposed curfew and remain on the streets.

"After traveling across state lines to incite riots, her orders recorded on video last night at the Brooklyn Center, directly led to more violence and a drive-by shooting on National Guardsmen in Minnesota early this morning", Greene wrote.

Chauvin was charged with the death of George Floyd and has been on trial in Minneapolis.

Cahill did not grant the defense's request for a mistrial, but he went on to excoriate Waters for her comments.

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) joins demonstrators in a protest outside the Brooklyn Center police station on April 17, 2021, in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota.

"More active" and "more confrontational" to "let them know we mean business" is hardly the sort of soothing rhetoric you'd expect from a grown-up congresswoman.

Alexei Navalny’s doctor: Putin critic ‘could die at any moment’
The open letter was published in Le Monde newspaper in France, The Economist , La Repubblica in Italy and Der Spiegel . Police arrested more than 10,000 people during nationwide protests in January calling for Navalny to be freed.

"I am hopeful that we will get a verdict that says 'guilty, guilty, guilty, ' and if we don't, we can not go away", she added. "We've got to make sure they know we mean business".

Waters said she did not hear the original question, which asked what protesters should do if Derek Chauvin is acquitted in the death of George Floyd, and asked for it to be repeated.

The judge in the case admonished Waters on Monday for her comments. They have been told not to watch the news and I trust that they are following these instructions and that there is not in any way a prejudice.

After a day of closing arguments, jury deliberations in the trial began late Monday afternoon. Period. Waters is wrong for encouraging confrontation and violence in a situation that requires the exact opposite of our leaders.

Earlier this year, Democrats pushed to convict former President Donald Trump on impeachment charges for purportedly inciting insurrection and violence at the US Capitol on 6 January. "Well, I'll give you that Congresswoman Waters may have given you something on appeal that may result in this whole trial being overturned", the judge said, "but what's the state's position?"

"This is also an abuse of power", Greene said. For all of the people making the "what about Republicans!" argument, remember this: You can only claim the moral high ground if you don't get down in the dirt yourself. And several of whom circulated a flier last week promoting the creation of the "America First" caucus that promised, among other things to foster "common respect for uniquely Anglo-Saxon political traditions".
