Japan witnesses total eclipse of supermoon

25 2021 shows a Super Moon rising behind the trees over the Mediterranean Sea. People in the Asia Pacific and the Americas will be able to observe a Super Flower Blood Moon on Wednesday

The Eastern Seaboard witnessed an unremarkable partial or penumbral lunar eclipse, during which more diffuse parts of the Earth's shadow clipped the moon, taking a darkened bite out of it.

A photo of the eclipse captured by The Borneo Post photographer Chimon Upon from the Friendship Park in Kuching.

A total lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth comes between the Sun and the Moon, blocking the Sun's rays from directly reaching the natural satellite.

Hence, a full moon in May is called a "flower moon".

Texas: 6:11-6:25 a.m. The eclipse will be seen in Sydney when the moon is much higher in the sky.

The main event will be between 1111-1125 GMT - late evening in Sydney and pre-dawn in Los Angeles - when the Moon will be entirely in the Earth's shadow.

The color is the result of the sunrises and sunsets in Earth's atmosphere projected onto the surface of the eclipsed moon.

A lunar eclipse occurs when the moon passes through the shadow cast by the Earth; the sun, moon, and Earth come into flawless alignment. It will appear as a "ring of fire" eclipse in Canada.

BC eyes return to normal in September with four-step plan
Bonnie Henry says more specifics will come out later this week about what the size limits will be on religious gatherings. If all goes according to plan, fans will be allowed to return to sporting events and concerts by September 7.

The lunar eclipse is safe to view with the naked eye, unlike a solar eclipse, which involves staring directly at the sun.

"Last time there was a Super Moon, last month, we missed it", Ken Loi, 50, said.

Even if you can't watch the lunar eclipse live, you can still bask in the glory of the supermoon.

Although the unusual celestial alignment will begin before moonrise, the full visual effects will only be clear once the moon has risen fully. This is the second, final, and biggest supermoon of the year, NASA says, because it is the one that passes closest to Earth. You have time: It will appear full for about three days surrounding the eclipse, up until Thursday morning.

According to the Planetarium, this does not happen every full moon "because the Moon's orbit is tilted by about 5 in relation to Earth's orbit around the Sun, so it is usually above or below the shadow cast by Earth".

When is the next lunar eclipse?

The remaining light reflects onto the Moon's surface with a red glow.

We're in for another treat this year: A partial lunar eclipse will be visible in North America on November 19, 2021. The next time a total lunar eclipse will be visible in the USA will be May 16, 2022.
