Kenney said the thrid stage of reopening could happen as early as June 28 if Albertans keep getting vaccinated and following COVID-19 restrictions in place.

Alberta began loosening restrictions Friday with places of worships now allowed to open to 15 per cent of fire code capacity.

- The limit on outdoor gatherings increases to 20 people.

Upon entering the first stage, Albertans will once again be allowed to head to patios for outdoor dining with up to four people, outdoor social gatherings can now be increased to ten people, and outdoor physical, performance and recreational activities for all ages are permitted with up to 10 distanced people.

- Personal and wellness services can open by appointment only.

Funeral ceremonies may have up to 20 people.

Restaurants - 4 people per table max, outdoors, households only or 2 close contact for those living alone.

Distancing and masking requirements will stay.

Two weeks after 70 per cent of the population receives a first dose of vaccine, nearly all restrictions will be lifted.

Hospitalizations will also need to be below 500 and declining.

Post-secondary classes can move to in-person and the work from home order will be lifted but still be recommended.

By the middle of June, gyms will be allowed to reopen and restaurants will be able to serve people indoors.

Retail capacity increases to one-third of fire code occupancy (must maintain ability to distance).

Youth activities (day camps, play centres) - resume with restrictions.

- The limit on public outdoor gatherings - concerts and festivals - increases to 150 people.

Outdoor fixed seating facilities (grandstands) - 1/3 seated capacity. Indoor social gatherings are still not permitted.

Prior to announcing Friday's benchmark, Kenney said that plans surrounding a second dose rollout are expected to be announced early next week.
